Job Location & Development (JLD) Program

The Job Location and Development (JLD) Program is a federally funded program designed to help students find off-campus, part-time employment while attending school. It is an excellent resource for your organization to identify and recruite qualified candidates for part-time year-round employment and full-time summer employment.

The purpose of the JLD program is to expose UIC students to options that best fit their individual career needs and aspirations.  It is centered on creating real-world experiences and for students to increase self-knowledge and develop marketable skills that provide a solid foundation for securing career-related options beyond graduation. Employers post their job opportunities through Handshake and students registered in our JLD program will be able to access and apply for your positions!

Questions? Contact the JLD Coordinator, Daisy Pureco, at dpurec2@uic.edu.

  • Career Fairs – UIC sponsors career fairs throughout the year where employers can network with students, students take this opportunity to submit their resume in-person and learn more about the opportunities your company has to offer.
  • Outreach Opportunities – The Student Employment office provides employers with student outreach opportunities such as sending target audience emails including employer information, upcoming events students are able to attend, and other career development opportunities.
  • On-Campus Interviews or Information Booth – In addition to job listings and job fairs, we encourage employers to recruit on-campus through various events.  A recruiting day on-campus has proven to be quite successful for many employers.  If you would like to schedule an informational booth or presentation, please contact JLD Coordinator Daisy Pureco, at dpurec2@uic.edu.
